The email comes from a compromised CSULB student email account and threatens that users’ Office 365 accounts will be terminated unless they renew their account information by clicking on a provided URL link. The email claims that ignoring this message will result in the termination of their account.
Message Intent
CSULB IT has addressed the compromised CSULB accounts. This is a fraudulent attempt to obtain sensitive data and send unsuspecting recipients to a fake login page to steal one's campus login username and password. CSULB will never ask you to verify your account via an unsolicited email.
